The new Keencut Evolution-E2 integrated wide format cutting system was designed to revolutionise the speed, accuracy and convenience of the finishing process. Intended to fit on any bench or the purpose built Keencut EVO 2 Bench the all new Evolution-E2 shares the same outstanding 1:15000 straightness accuracy guarantee of the first generation Evolution and the world renowned Javelin Xtra cutter bar.
The unique four piece cutter slideway and torsion bar extrusion combines with the full length base plate to create a cutting machine that will meet the challenges of the most demanding operator and safely process valuable artwork.
The integral lift and hold mechanism of the new Evolution-E2, operates from either end enabling a single operator to load and align even the longest print jobs quickly and accurately. The unique parking mechanism allows the cutter to be rotated to a safe position below the bench when it is not needed leaving the working surface free of obstructions for performing inspection and other procedures.
The replaceable integrated cutting track and textile cutting wheel attachment (included) enable flag and other delicate materials to be cut cleanly and with great precision when a knife blade is not suitable. When heat cutting and sealing is required the Keencut HotCut sliding head can be quickly attached with the appropriate electric Hot Knife and subsequently detached in seconds.
The Evolution E2 has been constantly refined since its inception and is the most versatile, accurate and simple to use wide format cutting system ever.
Available in five practical sizes, from 1.6 to 3.6 metres, the Evolution-E2 has been created to handle the output of every size and type of roll feed or flatbed printer with the capability to cut materials as diverse as flag, banner, PVC Foamboard, foamcore and much more.

In 1999 the original Javelin Cutter Bar was produced using a specialist Laser system to calibrate the full length of the cutting track. This method of production, unique to Keencut, ensures that every Evolution, Javelin & Javelin Integra cutting system is factory guaranteed to cut straight to within 0.2 mm along the full length - perfect for creating a seamless appearance in displays and installations.
We purchased both a SteelTrak and an Evolution E2 from Foster (Keencut’s main US distributor) several years ago. We use both machines primarily to cut corrugated and light weight signage materials either for pre-cutting (before printing) or post cutting (final trimming). We were drawn to these products based on their quality compared to others available in the market place and are very satisfied with the products mainly because they are very easy to use. In addition, they are a safe alternative which protects employees from unnecessary risks associated with hand cutting of print media. Worker safety is a major objective in our company and these products support this well.

Overall, we are very satisfied with the Evolution. We believe it’s a high-quality product that has helped minimise time for daily work in the large format printing business. It is an extremely versatile product and is a great addition to the workshop.

We get on great with our Keencut and it definitely earns its money! The Evolution was the first Keencut product we had purchased but we now own few of your Keencut steel tip straight-edges which we get on great with too and will be looking at additional trimmers in the future when our business expands.
Chaz Dobson, The Print Hive
We are extremely happy with this table cutter. The 140”+ length allows us to trim large banners and wallgraphics with ease when we would normally have to trim them by hand. I wanted to build a giant production table and this cutter was the only one on the market that would accommodate the size I needed. The cutter is extremely easy to use and new shop employees master it within hours of first using it. We chose this product for the length of cut, quality of the product and easy change out from regular duty blades to heavy duty blades. It’s built extremely well and has lasted for years without any issues.

Evolution-E2 Improves Speedway's Efficiency
Drivers on the track at the Michigan International Speedway aren't the only ones improving their times these days
The sign crew, with the help of the Keencut Evolution-E2, is also making significant gains. "This cutter has definitely increased our productivity," says Dustin Gilbert, graphic sign designer for Michigan International Speedway. "The Evolution operator gets things done ten-fold now that we have this machine."
And at a speedway, there are plenty of projects that need doing: directional signage for pedestrians, sponsor panels above the ticket gates, pace car decals, trailer wraps and vinyl graphics applied around the length of the track that now replace previously painted images. The sign crew uses the Evolution-E2 to trim and finish them all.
"In crunch time before races, we used to have two to three people in the shop working at different tables, cutting Coroplast manually with straight edges and knives," explains Gilbert. "Now we can have two more people out in the field completing other jobs, and only one running the Evolution."
Not only that, Gilbert says that cramped hands and injuries resulting from slipped blades are nonexistent now. "The Evolution-E2 is very safe. It's actually hard to get a finger inside it to cut yourself." What's more, Gilbert says that the speedway has significantly reduced wasted material since the crew is making fewer mistakes than they made when trimming by hand.
Just the Right Horsepower
The sign crew uses the Evolution-E2 every day for at least eight hours. "Two to three weeks before race time, the machine is going 12 to 14 hours a day," says Gilbert. The speedway also chose the 3.6m (144") model of the precision cutter to handle wide format jobs. "This is a well-built piece of equipment, very precise - the biggest in the Evolution-E2 line - and with the ability to adjust cuts to the thousandths of an inch. And it's solid. We couldn't ask for more."
Even with that volume, Gilbert says the machine is performing beyond his expectations, and that even the blades have an incredible shelf life, considering the rigid materials being cut. "After seven months of having the Evolution-E2, we hadn't gotten even halfway through two boxes of blades."
The Evolution E2 Bench is another product that Gilbert says is part of the speedway's new, winning solution. "The modular system is impressive - how you can put pieces together to create a bench - and if we wanted, we could easily transform it into an L shape by adding more pieces."
When Gilbert was in the market for a time-saving trimmer, he turned to a trusted Keencut dealer. "Advantage Sign Supply, one of our main vendors, indicated that the Evolution-E2 was the best in the market for rigid materials and pointed us to a video of the product in action, cutting foam board and Coroplast. We quickly realized it was the tool we needed. Before we knew it, Advantage had it delivered, and we were ready to go."
As Gilbert and his crew look forward to future races at the speedway, they agree that purchasing the Evolution-E2 was a profitable strategy. "Price- and value-wise, this is one of the best investments we've ever made. It's one of the biggest cost-saving items we've ever purchased."
"The cuts are more exact and there are a lot fewer mistakes. The Evolution-E2 saves us time and money."
